I LOVE JANUARY
Okay, so you think I’m crazy! I love January. I’m in New York City. It’s freezing. We are expecting a snowstorm — three to five inches. An arctic blast is on the way with temperatures reaching a “balmy” seven degrees! And you wonder why I love the month of January.
it’s simple. Thanksgiving and Christmas are behind me now. It’s quiet so I have the chance to chill (no pun intended)1
What are your plans for the month of January?
I’ve already been to the Louis Armstrong Center and House, which I highly recommend for groups and for day trippers. Whether you live in a rural area or big urban city, day trips are a way of relieving day-to-day boredom - and having curiosity helps a lot. You can get to the Louis Armstrong Museum by taking the #7 train.
I’m going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art this week and saw “Back to the Future - the Musical” before it closed early January.
New Yorkers are great walkers, so you can traverse the five boroughs for the price of an OMNY card.
Are you conducting any tours now?
January is usually a slow time for me. So, I am gathering tax papers (ugh!) in addition to being a tourist in my own city. Will be planning some more day trips as the month moves along. I also have clients contacting me for future tours all the way to December. I’m working on some confirmations for them..
